Magnificent Matter is an artist collective situated in Berlin that specializes in crafting mesmerizing abstract and cosmic worlds using microscopic perspectives. During their explorations, they delve into the psychedelic dimensions birthed by nature, unraveling the recurring patterns that shape both our microcosmic and macrocosmic realities. Their creative endeavors encompass a diverse range of mediums, including live VJ sessions, audiovisual installations, and exquisite fine art prints. Alex and Max, possess an unwavering desire to uncover a more authentic experience that pays homage to and embodies the innate beauty of our planet and beyond. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for the wonders of the natural world, they tirelessly seek to create works that capture and honor the awe-inspiring marvels of existence.

8:00 pm Daniel Molnar
Daniel Molnar, also known as Function Store, is an artist, musician, and developer based in Berlin. He creates captivating audiovisual and immersive-interactive experiences and develops custom tools, enabling other artists and designers to bring their own visions to life. Dan generously imparts his knowledge through YouTube and Patreon, where he shares tutorials, valuable insights, and useful resources. During his talk, Dan will unveil his new TopToMidi component. The tool employs a procedural approach to convert video into MIDI data, and consequently to sound. Thus TopToMidi enables the conversion of textures into playable musical instruments.

10:00 pm Markus Heckmann
Markus Heckmann holds the position of Technical Director in the development team of TouchDesigner. His passion for working with light-based media can be traced back to his involvement in the vibrant club scene of the late 90s and early 2000s. Markus actively contributes to both commercial and artistic projects. These endeavors encompass a wide range, from the creation of grand theme park attractions to the development of captivating video installations for renowned artists such as Carsten Nicolai. Through powerful tools like CamSchnappr, Kantan Mapper, and many others, Markus enhances the capabilities of TouchDesigner’s toolkit, thereby empowering its users with advanced functionality. Markus will be joining us in person, to share the latest news and insights from the Derivative mothership.
