UP
A community wide event geared to parents who like a bit of a dance in a child friendly environment; with a designated area especially for children!
Not dissimilar to a party at a friend’s house …
Your hosts
Dmitry Brill aka “Super DJ Dmitry from Deee-lite” (“Groove is in the heart”; “I just wanna’ hear a good beat” Grammy award nominated DJ/Producer)
&
Eric D. Clark of WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTIONS (“From: Disco To: Disco”; “the Cold Song”) recent winners of Cologne’s Holger-Czukay-Preis for “life time achievement in popular Music”.
Together they offer a line up perfect for a Sunday afternoon “tea dance” atmosphere: complete with live acts; cake (by Troy Lopez „ROSA CALETA„) and general “fun for the whole family”!
The first event will host the musical workings of two stellar entertainers
Isis Salam (aka Thunderheist: ChineseFlashMob) performing her latest EP “West Coast Chillin’”. Attention: we ain’t talkin’ about California mmmk? We are talkin’ about the West Coast of Africa Bébé!
Plus
Jessie Evans (formerly of THE VANISHING) will perform live saxophone plus sing a couple of tunes from her new incarnation NAUTI SIREN (produced by our DJ Dmitry)!
The Children’s area will have an early afternoon arts & crafts activities hosted by one of a coterie of performers from various disciplines in the Arts.
For example
Ayaka Okutsu, who studied at The Stædel Schule für Bildende Künste (under Eric D. Clark’s tutelage) and has hosted various child centric afternoons at small gallery spaces in Berlin, Frankfurt, as well as in her hometown of Yamaguchi!
UP
will change the face of going out in Berlin yet again!
You’ll see!
p.s. kids get in free!

Celebrating the Diversity of Science
“In a world of increasing complexity we need everyone on board“
Seven scientific institutes celebrate 30 years of cooperation in the Berlin Research Network at POP KUDAMM. The diverse research fields of the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB), the Leibniz Institute of Crystal Growth (IKZ), the Paul Drude Institute for Solid State Electronics (PDI), the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS), the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW), the Max Born Institute (MBI) and the Leibniz Research Institute for Molecular Pharmacology (FMP) allow us to have an impact on almost all areas of society. Our extraordinary research efforts show us every day how important the great diversity of research topics and approaches, management structures and leadership cultures is. We experience a great diversity of cultures, backgrounds and lifestyles in our institutes.
And that’s exactly what we want to celebrate! With elevator pitches, scientific crosstalk between fish researchers and quantum people, wild animals, crystals, pharmacological research, math and ultra-short lasers, and a good dose of fun. – Ever heard of powerpoint karaoke?
The evening will end with a concert by Saudia Young and Lars Vegas and drinks at the bar
An all-day festival of science at Pop Kudamm.
